On March 14, I had the opportunity to serve as host to the French Exchange Delegation from NASPA-Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education during a Florida visit that included a stop at Stetson. While here, they met with President Libby, Provost Paul and other key campus leaders.
NASPA’s international exchange program has been in existence since the mid-1990s. The program is designed to expose administrators to global practices of student affairs and services. The exchange program is reciprocal in nature where NASPA coordinates delegations from the USA to be hosted by institutions in other countries and NASPA sister associations coordinate delegations to visit the USA.
Delegations typically consist of three to five senior-level administrators and are one week in duration. The first NASPA international exchange occurred in September 1996, when a NASPA delegation from the U.S. visited France, hosted by The Centre National des Oeuvres Universitaires et Scolaires (CNOUS). The delegation that was at campus is also visiting Rollins, Embry-Riddle, and UCF. After the weeklong visit, they will attend the NASPA Annual Conference starting on Sunday, March 17, 2013.
