Eckerd College is in the process of launching the new\u00a0Nielsen Center for the Liberal Arts at Eckerd College<\/strong>. The NCLA will have a national presence through its workshops for faculty at small liberal arts colleges.\u00a0The\u00a0NCLA will host its\u00a0first national virtual conversation\u00a0at 3.00 EDT, on Thursday, Sept 30, 2021<\/strong>, titled: “The Vocation of the Liberal Arts Educator: Now More than Ever.”\u00a0This session will feature Jos\u00e9 Antonio Bowen, former President of Goucher College and founder of Bowen Innovation Group LLC; Lynn Pasquerella, President of the American Association of Colleges and Universities; and Michael Roth, President of Wesleyan University. Faculty can also apply for a\u00a0Teaching Workshop Fellowship for Early-Career Faculty<\/a>, which includes paid accommodations, travel, and an honorarium.\u00a0Applications are available and are due November 1, 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
