It is open to all teaching faculty members on the DeLand campus, regardless of previous experience with community-engaged learning (CEL, which includes service learning).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u00a0There are 8 spots available for this spring. (Our intent is to offer this again in 2023-24, pending funding availability.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each participant will be provided a copy of<a href=\"https:\/\/compact.org\/resources\/the-craft-of-community-engaged-teaching-and-learning\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/compact.org\/resources\/the-craft-of-community-engaged-teaching-and-learning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0<em>The Craft of Community-Engaged Teaching and Learning<\/em><\/a>, published by Campus Compact, the leading national organization for civic and community engagement in higher ed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participants qualify for a $500 stipend by participating in all 4 sessions and then submitting a CEL component that can be incorporated into an existing or new course or a revision of an existing CEL component. (While participants will be encouraged to implement the CEL component in an upcoming year, they are not required to do so for the stipend.)
