FEBRUARY 5<\/strong> FEBRUARY\u00a012<\/strong> We all spend a lot of time planning and supporting our students’ success, but what about your own success? How much time do you spend looking at your own career plans, much less your life plans? What would you like to do next? What can you do to get there? And what might hold you back? <\/em>In this session, participants will examine:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Kate Brooks<\/strong> will be drawing much of her training on possible and probable lives, mindsets, concept mapping, and experimental wanderings from her book “You Majored in What?” <\/i>She has regularly written for her blog, \u201cCareer Transitions\u201d, on the Psychology Today<\/i> website since February 2009. As Executive Director of Personal and Career Development at Wake Forest University, she is on the leading edge of creating career communities engaging faculty, staff, alumni, employers, and parents. She was named one of the \u201cTop Ten Most Visionary Leaders in Career Services\u201d for 2013 and 2014 by CSO Research. Dr. Brooks was honored by the National Association of Colleges and Employers with the 2013 Kauffman Award by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). Additionally, she has contributed numerous articles published in the NACE Journal<\/i>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n MARCH 17<\/strong> How can internships help me attract and retain students in my academic program? How do I know what my students are learning during their internship experience? <\/i>What skills are <\/i>desired by employers who hire students for internships? <\/em>During this session, participants will engage in a dynamic interactive workshop with Mike True, national internship expert and faculty member at Messiah College. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Mike True<\/strong> is a national consultant and speaker on internships.
