Below are activities of special significance:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Major Mixers<\/strong> from 11:15 am-Noon on Monday, August 17, locations listed in Appendix D of the <a href=\"http:\/\/stetson.edu\/focus\" target=\"_blank\">FOCUS Schedule<\/a>. Mixers provide an opportunity for new students to connect with faculty, staff and other students in their chosen area of study.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Opening University Faculty and Staff Meeting<\/strong> from 9:00 \u2013 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 19, in the Edmunds Center.  President Libby and Provost Paul will report on progress made toward Strategic Map priorities and provide an overview of goals for 2015-2016. All faculty and staff are expected to attend.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stetson.edu\/other\/convocation\" target=\"_blank\">University Convocation<\/a><\/strong> from 5:30 \u2013 6:30 pm on Wednesday, August 19, in the Edmunds Center. A processional with faculty in full regalia will herald the official start off the academic year as all students, faculty and staff come together for this formal academic opening ceremony. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>Community Dinner<\/strong> from 6:30 \u2013 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, in the Hollis Center. Come enjoy fun, food and entertainment as students, faculty and staff join together for a community dinner immediately following Convocation.  <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <strong>University Faculty Meeting<\/strong> from 12:00 \u2013 1:00 pm on Friday August 21, in Rinker Auditorium (LBC 108). The first faculty meeting for DeLand and Celebration faculty.
