{"id":4203,"date":"2016-08-04T10:50:53","date_gmt":"2016-08-04T14:50:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.stetson.edu\/faculty-engagement\/?p=4203"},"modified":"2019-02-17T13:26:43","modified_gmt":"2019-02-17T18:26:43","slug":"new-faculty-orientation-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.stetson.edu\/brown-center\/2016\/08\/4203\/","title":{"rendered":"New Faculty Orientation 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In just two\u00a0weeks, the newest class of faculty will be arriving on Stetson\u2019s campus and as a community, we look forward to welcoming them. \u00a0Faculty will attend orientation August 16<span style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 0px;\">\u00a0&#8211;<\/span>18\u00a0where they will learn\u00a0what to expect during their time at Stetson.\u00a0 During these three days, new faculty have the opportunity to interact with each other, current faculty and staff, the President and Provost, and the Stetson community. \u00a0Orientation session highlights include\u00a0how to survive the\u00a0first year at Stetson, maintaining health and wellness, the overarching role of\u00a0inclusive excellence at the\u00a0institution, a syllabus boot camp and course design, benefits workshop, and a faculty resource fair. There will be opportunities for new faculty to explore downtown Deland and take a tour of Stetson&#8217;s Deland campus.<\/p>\n<p>We invite the campus community to meet\u00a0our new faculty at one of the following events:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Snack and Network with New Faculty<br \/>\nTuesday, August 16<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0at 3:30 pm in Sage 222<br \/>\n(add event to your calendar)<br \/>\n<\/strong>All campus faculty and staff are invited to meet\u00a0these new faculty on campus on\u00a0\u00a0for\u00a0an event called \u201cSnack and Network\u201d while enjoying light snacks. \u00a0Please come out to welcome our new faculty to Stetson!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Pizza Lunch and Faculty Resource Fair in the LBC Lobby<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Thursday, August 18<sup>th<\/sup> from 12pm to 2pm<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>(add event to your calendar)<\/strong><br \/>\nNew Faculty Orientation culminates with the\u00a0an information resource fair for all faculty.\u00a0 This event brings together organizations from all over campus to meet, greet and learn about the diverse campus resources available.
