Rick Tysor<\/a> is a Renaissance man.<\/p>\n

He helps\u00a0<\/b>faculty and staff develop strategies and proposals for virtually any type of program at Stetson University including new graduate and undergraduate degrees, non-credit programs, centers, institutes, initiatives, grants and contracts (in conjunction with the Office of Grants, Sponsored Research, and Strategic Initiatives) and other academic programmatic activities.\u00a0 Rick can also advise you on academic budgets, financials, and faculty-related policies and procedures.<\/p>\n

If it is administrative in nature, Rick can usually answer your question or direct you to the person who can.<\/i><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Rick Tysor is executive director of academic administration at Stetson University. Reporting to the Provost, Rick is responsible for administrative process and policy improvements to facilitate effective and efficient operations at all levels of support, and reduce the administrative burden on\u00a0 faculty.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Rick\u00a0assists with budget development and reviews, and financial analyses of existing and new academic programs.\u00a0 He also oversees research development including grants, contracts, affiliation agreements, pre-award and proposal, as well as research administration support (award and post-award) including budget development and justification support of proposals, negotiation of sponsor awards, and review of affiliation agreements with corporations and other entities.<\/p>\n

Did you know?<\/b> Rick Tysor is Stetson\u00a0University\u2019s institutional liaison to the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSOC).<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

About Rick Tysor<\/h2>\n

\"\"Richard (Rick) Tysor has over 25\u00a0years of experience in administration, business operations management and analysis, and strategic planning.\u00a0Prior to joining Stetson University in 2013, he served as executive director\u00a0of Duke University\u2019s Office of Interdisciplinary Program Management, and was responsible for administrative oversight and support of Duke University’s signature\u00a0institutes and centers\u00a0and provostial initiatives and programs.\u00a0Mr. Tysor also served as assistant\u00a0dean\u00a0for business and finance\u00a0at the University\u00a0of North Carolina-Chapel Hill\u00a0School of Public Health and as\u00a0assistant\u00a0director\u00a0of the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute\u2019s Center of Marine Biotechnology. He has worked in business management positions at Johns Hopkins University and Hospital, and in major industry and charitable organizations. Mr. Tysor also served over 20\u00a0years in the military, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel from the National Guard.<\/p>\n
