As part of his work with the Stetson Writing Center, Dr. Hutchinson presented a talk on his work with Florida International University students “Writing and Immigrant Rights: Letters to a Detention Center”.<\/p>\n

\u201cI quickly realized that my students had already experienced such hardships when deportation affected their own families,\u201d he said. \u201cOne student shared how he and his brother had to live without their mother. He continues to attend college and he wants to change the laws to make it possible for his mother to return to the United States.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
