This year\u2019s conference theme is Teaching Choices, Learning Consequences. Sessions will explore evidence-based strategies for creating significant learning experiences for students as well as the impact, both intended and unintended, of our teaching choices. We will also reflect on what both we, and our students, can or should learn from those choices.<\/p>\n<p>Registration will close August 10 (one week before the conference). You can view the program and register to attend at the <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.elon.edu\/tlc2017\/\">conference website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The opening plenary speaker will be Dr. David B. Daniel, Professor of Psychology at James Madison University who will present, \u201cThe Darkside of Pedagogy.\u201d Dr. Daniel has been teaching for over 25 years and his scholarship bridges research and practice. Dr. Daniel\u2019s work focuses on \u201cevidence demonstrated\u201d knowledge that can be used to inform individual teaching practices and educational policy. He has been given the Society for Teaching of Psychology\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/nebula.wsimg.com\/c46c3aec1c9745cf315865bb24ba4e5f?AccessKeyId=A8B6EF6839D711B3D63C&amp;disposition=0&amp;alloworigin=1\">Teaching Excellence Award<\/a> and he is a Fellow of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.psychologicalscience.org\/\">Association for Psychological Science<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 14th Annual Elon Teaching &amp; Learning Conference will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017.
