Stetson\u2019s Nina B. Hollis Institute for Educational Reform<\/a> supports educational innovation for the advancement of all learners, from birth through grade 12 and nontraditional students by offering grants up to $10,000 per year for up to three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The institute recently announced its grant recipients for the 2022-2023 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In revealing the projects for fiscal year 2023, Bette Heins, PhD, director of the Nina B. Hollis Institute, commented: \u201cWe couldn\u2019t be happier with the unique themes and services these projects are creating for our schools and community.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raisa Ankeny \u2013 Volusia Implements Bilingual Education (VIBE).<\/em> A pilot collaborative bilingual program in local elementary schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah Garcia and Leila Roach \u2013 Stetson Brain Fitness Academy.<\/em> A Stetson Brain Fitness Academy for elderly individuals and their caregivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rajni Shankar-Brown \u2013 SEEDs for Justice!<\/em> A human and civil rights documentary project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amy Smith \u2013 Volusia County Schools Early Education Math Professional Development<\/em>. A project aiming to promote teachers\u2019 understanding of, and attention to, early number concepts to encourage students\u2019 understanding of numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sven Smith \u2013 Mock Trial Summer Camp.<\/em> A mock trial summer camp with scholarships for marginalized children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nathan Wolek \u2013 Young Sound Seeks.<\/em> A program that teaches ways to protect the natural sounds in national parks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Judith Scully \u2013 Know Your Rights for Teens.<\/em> A know-your-rights program for troubled youth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
