{"id":1611,"date":"2022-09-08T21:46:57","date_gmt":"2022-09-08T21:46:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.stetson.edu\/faculty-engagement\/?p=1611"},"modified":"2023-02-12T19:19:08","modified_gmt":"2023-02-12T19:19:08","slug":"2-stetson-faculty-receive-international-recognition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.stetson.edu\/faculty-engagement\/2022\/09\/08\/2-stetson-faculty-receive-international-recognition\/","title":{"rendered":"2 Stetson Faculty Receive International Recognition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Two Stetson University&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stetson.edu\/portal\/business\/\">School of Business Administration<\/a>&nbsp;professors have been recognized by two separate international organizations for outstanding achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_21018\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/today\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Isabel-200x178.jpg\" alt=\"porrait outside\" class=\"wp-image-21018\"\/><figcaption>Isabel Botero<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Isabel Botero, Ph.D., assistant professor of family enterprise and entrepreneurship, was awarded the Advanced Certificate in Family Wealth Advising (ACFWA) and honored as a Fellow of the Family Firm Institute (FFI) at the 2018 FFI Global Conference held in London, England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be named a fellow honoree, Botero had to achieve comprehensive professional knowledge and significant expertise over the past 10 years that may now be shared and used by family business owners and family wealth management clients. The&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ffi.org\/\">Family Firm Institute<\/a>&nbsp;(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ffi.org\/\">www.ffi.org<\/a>), an international professional membership organization of more than 1,800 individuals and organizations across 88 countries, provides interdisciplinary education and networking opportunities for family business and family wealth advisors, consultants, educators and researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBecoming a Fellow for the Family Firm Institute is an honor for me because it highlights my collaborative work to help family enterprises around the world become better,\u201d explained Botero. \u201cIt also acknowledges the importance of education and research in the field.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_34672\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/today\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/foo-161x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-34672\"\/><figcaption>Jennifer Foo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stetson.edu\/other\/faculty\/jennifer-foo.php\">Jennifer Foo<\/a>, Ph.D., professor of finance, also has been honored as a member of the Jewish National Fund\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ff2israel.org\/index.php\">Winter 2018-2019 Faculty Fellowship Program in Israel<\/a>. This competitive academic fellowship gives full-time higher education faculty members the opportunity to participate in a 12-day all-expenses-paid academic trip to Israel. The program strives to link scholars from diverse disciplines with their Israeli counterparts at major universities to initiate collaboration and exchanges, and to give participants an opportunity to explore Israel\u2019s history, politics, culture and economy. Foo is the first Stetson University faculty member to receive this fellowship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis fellowship is an invaluable and exciting opportunity for me to learn about Israel,\u201d said Foo. \u201cI look forward to learning how an entrepreneurial and innovative business spirit can be born out of a necessity to grow and survive, as it did in Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_16485\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www2.stetson.edu\/today\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Neal-Mero2-copy-153x200.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16485\"\/><figcaption>Neal Mero<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis recognition of Dr. Botero and Dr. Foo highlights the quality of faculty who serve in the Stetson School of Business Administration,\u201d said&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stetson.edu\/other\/faculty\/profiles\/neal-mero.php\">Neal P.
