Call for Papers: Sunshine State Teaching and Learning Conference

The 2019 Sunshine State Teaching and Learning Conference will be held Jan. 30–Feb. 1, 2019 at The Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach.

Plenary Speaker:
Peter Felton, professor of history, assistant provost for teaching and learning, and executive director of the Center for Engaged Learning at Elon University.

Call for Papers

Participants from all sectors of higher education in and beyond the state of Florida are encouraged to submit proposals for presentations, workshops, and posters related to contemporary challenges in college teaching. Topics may include the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL); active-learning strategies; technologies to support active learning; big data in higher education; engaging students in online environments; high-impact learning experiences; ensuring accessibility for all students; learning spaces; reflection and mindfulness; teaching in politically and socially complicated moments; exploring the role/s of faculty in promoting and assessing student success; and new frontiers in teaching and learning.

  • Panel sessions will feature panels of presenters sharing research findings on related topics
  • Application/sharing sessions will include short presentations and conversations on programming and class activities
  • Poster sessions will feature visual presentations on both research and programming topics

The deadline to submit a proposal is 11:59 p.m. on October 15, 2018. Acceptance notices will be distributed by November 7.
