Eckerd College is in the process of launching the new Nielsen Center for the Liberal Arts at Eckerd College. The NCLA will have a national presence through its workshops for faculty at small liberal arts colleges. The NCLA will host its first national virtual conversation at 3.00 EDT, on Thursday, Sept 30, 2021, titled: “The Vocation of the Liberal Arts Educator: Now More than Ever.” This session will feature José Antonio Bowen, former President of Goucher College and founder of Bowen Innovation Group LLC; Lynn Pasquerella, President of the American Association of Colleges and Universities; and Michael Roth, President of Wesleyan University. Faculty can also apply for a Teaching Workshop Fellowship for Early-Career Faculty, which includes paid accommodations, travel, and an honorarium. Applications are available and are due November 1, 2021.
