Annual Poverty Conference Attracts 283 Participants

Stetson University hosted the 2nd annual Poverty and Homelessness Conference on October 23, 2015.  A student panel (below) provided testimony on the plight of homelessness in the U.S. According ti conference founder, Rajni Shankar-Brown, participants included educators, activists, and members of the community. Dr. Shankar-Brown is associate professor, director of Education Graduate Programs, and the Jesse Ball DuPont Chair of Social Justice Education at Stetson University. The conference is a grassroots collaborative between Stetson University and Volusia County Schools to increase the social-emotional, well-being and academic success of children and youth. More
