Public Panel on Water/Climate Change Attracts Over A Hundred Participants

Joseph Treaster (at podium), Stetson’s 2016 visiting Woodrow Wilson Fellow, invited a panel of experts to discuss the outcomes and expectations of the Paris Climate Change Accords and the most recent science on sea level rise in Florida to a standing room only crowd of over 100 people from Stetson University and the broader community. Panelists at the February 16, 2016 event included Sister Pat Siemen, director of the Center for Earth Jurisprudence at Barry University School of Law; Jason Evans, assistant professor of environmental science at Stetson University; Chad Truxall, executive director of the Marine Discovery Center in New Smyrna Beach and a Florida Master Naturalist instructor; and Dinah Pulver, award-winning environmental journalist with the Daytona Beach News-Journal. Treaster is professor at the University of Miami and prize-winning reporter. During February 15-19, 2016, he is spending his residency at Stetson University working with students and faculty on campus and in the field.  More
