Melinda Hall, Savannah-Jane Griffin, Rosalie Richards, Jessica West, and Grace Kaletski (l-r) participated in the second Institute on Project-based Learning at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, June 22-25, 2016. Project-based learning is an experiential learning method where student teams engage in real-world projects and learn through doing and through reflection on the experience. As part of the 2.5 day intensive workshop, the Stetson team developed an action plan to mobilize recent self-study recommendations made by the Academic Planning Advisory Council on experiential learning at Stetson University. The institute hosted 23 teams of five or more faculty and administrators from colleges and universities across the globe to learn about promising practices in project-based learning. The Institute was a partnership between WPI and the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U). Stetson University is a member of AAC&U, the leading national association focused on undergraduate liberal education.
