E. Lamerial Jacobson joins Stetson University as its most recent Brown Teacher-Scholar Fellow in Counselor Education.

Dr.  Jacobson’s research focuses on a multicultural, interdisciplinary approach to understanding counselor identity development and gate-keeping; adult and child survivors of trauma, abuse, and intimate partner violence; marriages, couples, and families; LGBTQ issues in counseling; and human trafficking.  She has a goal to continue closing the gap between the clinical practice information she teaches and what future counselors do in clinical practice. Dr. Jacobson views this work as an integral part of her Teacher-Scholar role. Jacobson earned a B.S. in Psychology, an M.A. in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Central Florida.  She is a licensed mental health counselor in Florida.
