WORLD Class Travel Awards

Tanzania - Bell coreStetson University seeks to elevate, broaden, and strengthen international learning and intercultural competence. To advance this vision, Stetson University’s WORLD: The David and Leighan Rinker Center for International Learning is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals for travel awards for teacher-scholar faculty to boost international learning and intercultural competence. Faculty are invited to submit applications for international exploratory travel, participation in CIEE International Faculty Development Seminars, or other faculty study abroad offerings. Faculty are eligible to receive Stetson University travel awards for up to $5,000. Proposals are solicited for work that advances  Stetson University as a global citizen.

Stetson University as a Global Citizen

Stetson University offeres three (3) types of awards for international faculty travel. Resources are limited. Proposals are prioritized based on potential to have long-term, sustainable impact on Stetson University’s development as a global citizen.

CIEE International Faculty Development Seminars (summer)

Faculty development in international countries is offered through partnership with the Council on International Educational Exchange’s CIEE) International Faculty Development Seminars program. Seminars provide faculty and academic leaders with access to rich academics, diverse intercultural experiences, and innovative approaches to learning and problem-solving that enhance syllabi, internationalize curricula, and increase global understanding on campus. Travel is for summer IFDS only.

Faculty Study Abroad

Funds are available to support non-CIEE study abroad by faculty and institutional teams to enrich academic development, expand intercultural competence, and boost innovative approaches to learning, problem-solving and critical thinking.

Funds are available to support individual faculty and teams to explore emerging opportunities in different parts of the the world that have broad impact on student and organizational learning.
