Travel Awards

WORLD is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of travel awards each year. Awards support work done by faculty to internationalize the campus and curricula. Funds are available to support individual faculty and teams to explore emerging opportunities in different parts of the world that have broad impact on student and organizational learning.

Faculty Study Away: Funds are available to support international learning by faculty and institutional teams to enrich academic development, expand intercultural competence, and boost innovative approaches to learning, problem-solving and critical thinking.

Exploratory Travel: Funds are available to support individual faculty and teams to explore emerging opportunities in different parts of the world that have broad impact on student and organizational learning.

International Faculty Development Seminars (IFDS): IFDS aims to help Stetson faculty learn how to build and lead their own study abroad programs. The centerpiece of IFDS is an immersive week-long experience where faculty participate in study abroad typically in Latin America or the Caribbean. The program takes place biannually in mid-May. Costs are covered through the travel award. Join us at the spring 2020 Lunch and Learn to learn more.

Study Abroad

Faculty can show our Study Abroad 101 during their online classes.  Faculty are encouraged to watch the video as well so they can understand the different program options available for students.  For faculty that will advise students on their academics, they should familiarize themselves with our study abroad opportunities.  We have programs for ALL majors at Stetson.  Stetson students should be encouraged to speak with WORLD to learn about the best program and location that will meet their academic needs and complete graduation requirements.

WORLD welcomes ALL faculty to consider leading a short term study abroad program.  For details on how to submit a proposal or for more information, check out our Faculty Led Proposal Process videos.  Please contact Wendy Viggiano if you have questions or if you would like to lead a program in the future.
