Disability Awareness Month

Accessibility Services is hosting in honor of Disability Awareness Month!

Kathy Searle Acevedo and Wendy Wilson who presented their interactive workshop “Interacting with People Living with a Disability” recently at Values Day 2017 have been invited back to campus to present their workshop again. They will be here Monday October 23rd in Davis 209 from 5pm-6:30pm.  Attendance is open to all and we hope you will encourage our students to attend as well!

Accessibility Services is also hosting a screening of the film, Temple Grandin, Thursday October 26th in Sage 222 at 5:30pm. The film is a biopic of Temple Grandin, a woman living on the autism spectrum and follows how she became an expert in animal husbandry in part due to her unique way of seeing the world. Temple Grandin is a leading advocate for individuals on the autism spectrum and is famous as one of the first people to be able to share their experience of living on the spectrum.

Attendance is open to faculty, staff and students.  Both events have been approved for Cultural Credit.
